Pastor Thorne holds a basic first degree in Theology from Andrews University, a Master’s degree in Pastoral Theology from the Inter-American Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate in Family Life Education from Andrews University.  He is a certified Chaplain and Mediator.

He is a third-generation Seventh-day Adventist and a member for about 49 years.  He has served the church as pastor for about 35 years of which 20 of those years as an office director.  He is the proud husband of the lovely Janice Thorne for the past 33 years, a union that produced two children: Colin jr. and Janise.
