News for October 31, 2013

FUNERAL SERVICE FOR EDISON BRISTOL ROLLE:  The funeral service for our church family member, Retired Senior Lieutenant Commander, Edison Bristol Rolle, age 66, of the Royal Bahamas Defense Force, the husband of Laura Rolle, will be on Monday, November 11, 2013, at a the Grant's Town Seventh-day Adventist Church, Wellington Street, Nassau, at 11:00 a.m..

He is survived by his wife Laura; 1 son, Marvin; 2 daughters, LaReina Rolle-Symonette and Sheneka Darnell Rolle; 9 brothers and 5 sisters and a host of relatives and friends. 

Funeral directors are Fealy Demeritte Funeral Home.  Internment will be at the Western Cemetery, Nassau Street.  Pastor Hugh Roach will preach the eulogy.  Officiating will be Pastors Barrington Brennen Paul Scavella, and John Carey.







News for October 9, 2013

THE PASTORíS ANNUAL EVALUATION:  The Conference will be conducting the evaluation of all pastors this month.  The following number of persons of Centreville Church will be selected this year (by random selection) to participate in evaluating Pastor Barrington Brennen:  Three elders, five board members, ten choir members, ten youth ages 10-16, ten youth ages 17-30, and twenty-five other members.   A form will be given to the selected persons to complete and turn in to the first elder, Todd Beneby.   The month of October is also pastorís appreciation month world-wide.


COMMUNION CELEBRATION:  All are invited to come and be a part of the Communion  Service next Sabbath, October 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m..  It is a time for spiritual cleansing and renewal.  In the Adventist Church, Communion is conducted once each quarter.  The Communion Service has two components:  The feet washing called the Ordinance of Foot-Washing and the Lordís Supper.  The feet washing serves as a miniature baptism, allowing participants to ďwash awayĒ past sins.  The Lordís Supper is a time of reflection and thanksgiving for the sacrifice of Christ on Calvary making it possible for us to be cleansed of our sins.   During the Lordís Supper the symbols (grape juice and unleavened bread) represents Christís blood and His body. 


SOUP, SOUP, HOT SOUP! On Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at 11 a.m. to 12 noon the soup kitchen began. The next soup kitchen will be on Wednesday, October 23, 2013.  (Soup Kitchen will be on the second and forth Wednesday of every month.)  Feel free to invite individuals and families from the community who are in need of a hot meal. 



FUNERAL SERVICES: The funeral service for Prisca Pratt, age 85, the sister of Lillian Rolle, will be tomorrow, October 13, 2013, at St Agnes Anglican Church, at 2:30 P.M..  The funeral service for Blunetta Roach, age 101, will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the Grantís Town Seventh-day Adventist Church, Wellington Street.  The funeral service for Bernetia Deveaux age 89 (mother of Joan Calendar and Lynn Deveaux), will be on Sunday, October 20, 2013, 3 p.m. at Hillview Church.
